Easy Taco Pizza

Looking for a fun twist on basic tacos? Make taco pizza!

The best part about a recipe like this is it's FUN! There isn't exact measurements, you can switch things up and use different ingredients & toppings, you can add as much cheese as you want, etc. It's all to taste and how YOU want it. I'm just handing you the guideline.

Making homemade pizza is perfect for date night, in my opinion, or a fun evening with the kids. Cooking is a time to bond and make memories together. I guess right now during our quarantine time (thanks, Covid) is the perfect time for us to be home with the ones we love and try new things, have fun in the kitchen, just make memories together. I can tell you I have personally had a BLAST cooking these last few weeks of quarantine.

Onto the recipe...

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough

  • 1 lb ground meat (or chicken, turkey, whatever you want!)

  • 1 pack of taco seasoning

  • pico de gallo (check out my recipe for that)

  • 1 can refried beans

  • shredded cheese, mexican blend

  • taco sauce

Directions:

  1. Follow the directions on the dough package, preheat the oven.

  2. Cook the ground meat, drain when finished cooking and place back in skillet, follow the directions on the taco seasoning and let simmer on low until ready to use.

  3. Warm up the refried beans, it's easier to spread when they're cooked.

  4. Follow directions on how to cook the pizza dough. For what I used, you'll pre-bake the dough, then add toppings. Start with spreading a thin layer of taco sauce (as you would pizza sauce), then a thin layer of the refriend beans, layer the meat, sprinkle cheese on top and finish baking.

  5. When finished baking add the pico on top and allow to rest for a few minutes.

  6. Enjoy!
