I love, love, love Trader Joe's meals! And I know I'm not the only one, just look at all the amazing recipes you find on Pinterest of Trader Joe's Hacks & Meals.
This is the perfect dinner for a busy weeknight.
We used ground chicken, but really you can use ANY kind of meat you want for your stir fry. And the best thing about these nifty frozen meals is you can doctor them up any way you want. Since this was our first time trying this particular bag of Cauliflower Stir Fry, we kept it pretty simple. However, next time I will definitely be adding some fresh veggies. Probably some onions and bell peppers.
[ If you're not feeling the whole cauliflower thing, I believe they have this with rice too!]
So let's start with cooking up the ground chicken. Grab yourself a large skillet (you'll be cooking it ALL in one, so make sure it's large enough) and warm up a teaspoon of the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Once warmed, add your ground chicken. Go ahead and season the chicken with some garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Add in half of the soy sauce and cook the chicken all the way through.
Once the chicken is cooked, move to the edges of the skillet to create a little empty circle in the middle to add the other teaspoon of sesame oil. Let the oil warm up for a few seconds before adding the bag of cauliflower stir fry. Once the frozen chunks break down add some fresh garlic, the remaining half of the soy sauce, and chili garlic sauce. Let this simmer for 10 minutes, make sure to stir occasionally.
As my father, grandmother, and nana always say: "smakelijk eten!"
Ingredients:
1 bag of Trader Joe's frozen cauliflower stir fry
1 pack of ground chicken
2 tsp sesame oil (separated in half)
6 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce (separated in half)
2 tbsp chili garlic sauce
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp pepper
Directions:
In a large skillet, heat up 1 tsp sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add ground chicken.
Season ground chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Add half (3 tbsp) the soy sauce. Cook all the way through.
Add remaining tsp of sesame oil to the same skillet with the chicken, allow to warm. Add the bag of cauliflower stir fry.
Once the frozen stir fry breaks down, add the remaining half of the soy sauce and the chili garlic sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve & enjoy!
